Cavaliers Hold Off The Hostle Detroit Pistons For A 98-88 Victory

DETROIT- Going to Michigan, the Cavaliers thought they might have their All-Star center Shaquille O’Neal back in the lineup to face the once rivaled Detroit Pistons. Earlier today the decision was made to give O’Neal just one more day to make sure the injury was healed. Yesterday LeBron James talked with the media about tonights match up saying the rivalry wasn’t the same as it was in the past with the Pistons. One of those reasons being no more Rasheed Wallace. James did say he enjoys the hostel crowd he faces every trip to Detroit. The way the crowd treats James makes him play that much harder.
The Cavaliers came out in the first half of this match up on fire scoring sixty (60) points. Throw out most the game the Cavaliers had a double figure lead and it looked as they would cruse to a easy win. The Detroit Piston would not allow that to happen as they made a second half drive and holding the Cavaliers to only thirty-eight (38) points. James and the Cavalier where able to stop the bleeding when the lead got down to six points. Then the Cavaliers made a final push to close the game out, winning 98-88.
LeBron James led the way with 34 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assist, Mo Williams had 14 points, 8 assist and 2 rebounds, Anthony Parker had 13 points, 3 rebounds and 1 assist, Daniel Gibson had 13 points, 2 assist and 1 steal and Jamario Moon had 11 points, 3 rebounds and 2 blocked shots.
The Cavaliers now travel to Charlotte to take on the Bobcats Friday night. Tip-off is at 7:00.
