Delonte West Continues To Play As His Legal Issues Play Out

MARYLAND- Cavaliers guard Delonte West was indicted on additional weapons and traffic charges in Maryland giving him two counts of carrying a dangerous weapon, two counts of carrying a handgun, two counts of transporting a handgun, one count of reckless driving and one count of negligent driving. There was new information stating that West was carrying 112 shotgun shells and an 8.5 inch Bowie style knife. With these charges, West faces up to three years for each of the six gun charges and a $2,500 fine per offense.
Cleveland Cavaliers released this statement:
"It is our understanding that today’s developments are part of the legal process that continues to take place with Delonte and he and his legal counsel will handle that. We will continue to take this matter very seriously and monitor and respect the legal process as it proceeds, but not speculate or comment about it." - Danny Ferry, Cavaliers General Manager.
As I said before GM Danny Ferry has done a great job at handling this situation. He has not only handled the fans and medias concerns but he has keep West personal life off the court and from being a distraction to the team.
