Cavaliers Magic Basketball

CLEVELAND- Cleveland Cavalier fans can get ready for an exciting time, for at 12:01 a.m. Saturday, the Cavalier can officially offer LeBron James a contract extension. You can bet your last dollar there will be discussion and a offer.

My sources tell me the offer should be around a three year extension for $65 Million Dollars. Keep in mind James still has an option in his current contract for the 2010-11 season, and the Cavaliers could offer three years on top of that.

Things to keep in mind, last time James extended his contract he was a restricted free agent. This time he will be an unrestricted free agent. Though James has said he will consider an extension offer. The good thing is Dan Gilbert and Danny Ferry have done above and beyond to prove to James they will do what ever it takes to keep this team top contenders year in and year out. I look forward to what the future holds for James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Last thing to keep in mind, with the salary cap going down, the Cavaliers will be able to offer James more money than any other team in the NBA because he will be grandfathered in under his current contract terms.
